UPDATE to bunker tours given in Punta Marina Terme (noted on p. 134 of guidebook):
In January 2018 the group that is restoring WWII bunkers and air raid shelters near Ravenna renamed itself “Bunker e Rifugi Antiaerei a Ravenna."
This organization and others have created an inventory of area bunkers and shelters. Updates are posted on its social media page. You can send questions (in English or Italian) to the group via that page.
A goal is to have these historic structures serve as an open-air museum that would attract visitors to the Adriatic coast throughout the year. See below photos of selected bunkers in Punta Marina Terme, a charming village just to the east of Ravenna.
Plans for the future include:
Restoring and/or maintaining WWII bunkers in more coastal communities
Creating footpaths between the bunkers in each community
Providing maps and brochures
Enabling guides to lead tours of these structures.
